Meet Our Advertisers #2: Janet at Lanetz Living

right here is the second in our continuing series of “Meet Our Advertisers”: Janet from Lanetz Living!

How long have you been in business? started on Ebay in 1999.

What inspired you to go into the vintage pattern business?I dealt mainly in Ephemera (old paper) as well as would buy from estate liquidators. I frequently bought 50# each time as well as these great deals frequently included vintage “Paper” stitching patterns. I was fascinated with the illustrations as well as they offered extremely well. I began browsing them out as well as quite soon I started getting great deals of emails wanting me to buy estate great deals of patterns as well as so it began …

What did you do before this?Stayed at house as well as tried to spend every dime my hubby made. (He told me to make my own “dimes”!) He was rather happy as well as truly believed I would only offer sufficient to keep my grandchildren in toys as well as clothes as well as gos to from “Nani”. He was shocked by the method the website took off in 2006. I now work 40-60 hours a week with full time help. I am having a ball!!!

Where are you based?20 miles west of Wichita Kansas in a little farming town.

More fun questions:

What do you have in stock that you can’t believe hasn’t sold?A much better concern for me is “What I had that DID sell!!” Some quite wild patterns go out of right here on a everyday basis. Ha!

What do you dream about finding?Vogue designer patterns … from a store that went out of business 50 years back as well as have been secretly tucked away in a dry climate free from bugs waiting on me to discover them!! Come house to Mamma!!!

What do you enjoy most about working with vintage clothes as well as vintage stitching patterns? The clients from around the world. I like to hear their stories of why they are buying them. I frequently publish them on the website.

It’s a great day at work when …We get all the orders filled as well as out the door as well as a new gallery is listed as well as I still have time to make dinner for hubby.

You’d laugh if you understood this about me … I don’t sew.
